If you’re not from England, chances are good you’ve never heard of Our Lady of Walsingham, or of the Shrine that bears her name – yet the world famous site in Norfolk, English, has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries and is now called England’s Roman Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham.

Why is it known as England’s Nazareth? Because Our Lady appeared to an English noblewoman named Richeldis de Faverches in the 11th Century and asked her to build a replica of the home where the angel Gabriel told her that she was to become.
